Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Like the earnings report has any bearing on whether we stay or go

We're getting laid off either way.

What does this mean for mental health therapists? Will we be forced to work from home via telehealth? Or will we be laid off all together?

Off shore has hurt us?? You mean waiting 48 hours for acknowledgement of a request is too long ? And 20 minutes for a survey when it is completed? Upside backwards

If they were smart, they would really take a hard look as to why and how we got here. Offshoring hurt us, not being realistic when building CBAs also hurt us, and not listening to the needs of our members is absolutely the cherry on the cake. If we don't actually take this time to pivot and run to lay offs, offshoring, and cuts- the company might as well be finished.

The email from Hemsley was pretty dire. Though he did point out a lot of the problems were self inflicted by terrible leadership. But yeah mentioned all the health care usage, and gov funding. There is nothing to do but make it much cheaper to run and raise premiums a ton and risk mkt share. Either way employees are SOL. Lots of cuts coming imo

Optum health was the bummer. While Optum insight and rx increased their profits the Optum health dragged down so do the math.

Not out of the realm of possibility that there’s more RIF next month or September

Are you referring to the email from Hemsley today? That just says in a roundabout way there will be layoffs.
