Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Union

It is likely too late to have much impact for Intel, but the root of unionization should start now. I never believed in unions and always felt your reward should be based on your impact to the business. I never felt tenure should be part of any job, just your contribution. LBT could give a rat’s A-s what the “common” employee thinks. It is amazing to see all the comments in cct saying we should do this or that. He does not care one whim what the “cannon fodder” says. The few times he has graced us with a response show his egoism and how incredibly out of touch he is with employees. An upfront open public attempt to discuss a system that will provide some protection for employees should start, even if it is an outline of unionization. It really is too late, but it may help you in your next work place if it is tech related.

OP, find a union that would be interested in Intel. Good luck, there is no money for the union. They won't waste their time.

US statistics:
% of population living paycheck to paycheck = 34% to 67% (depending on which survey)
% of population with over $ 1 billion = 0.0003%

Sustainable? Justifiable? Recipe for disaster?

Hey Bud. You want union? Move to Michigan or Ohio, punch out auto-parts, day in and day out. Drive your little white SUV, the same one everyone else got through the employee discount. Tee up at the McDonalds drive through for lunch, like everyone else... All on good union pay. Quite the life

What exactly do you need a union for? Just not getting laid off?

The company is dying and hemorrhaging money and can’t support its current operations. It needs a dramatic shift in how it operates as a company. Screeching for a union doesn’t make any sense just because you’re mad people got laid off

Also saying LBT ki-led the Intel way….. just lol. The Intel way ki-led itself years ago, and will continue to ki-l itself without a radical change. Doesn’t make sense to be mad at LBT when all of this is based on years and years of failures and misguided directions from CEOs past

We are factory workers here and think with that mentality.
Look at our competition none of them think like factory workers and unionizing. Focused on doing whatever it takes. It is too late for us.
This site seems to have lots of tech factory workers. The world has moved on. Time to get a job at 7-11.

Intel employees are too weak (i.e. lacking resilience, determination) & disorganized to form a union. I called for this years ago...

Americans have been brainwashed to believe that capitalism is the true religion and Unions are Satan’s work. Unions are the only hope for a better life for tech workers.

LBTs legacy will always be the one who destroyed the Intel way. I would like to see him as the one who spurred the development of protections or some resemblance of unionization for the tech industry. This country, USA, will have no future without tech. Fast food, service industry, and crime will be the only jobs of the future.
