Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Timing of next layoff?

Anyone have any real info about any upcoming layoffs at Corporate, SPP or Quill? Lots of budget scrambling going on.

Not looking for comments about leadership or a mystery blackball list.

@gm never on Monday to the masses, Tuesday or Wednesday as the HR team would work on paperwork and leader calls on Monday. No idea if this rumor is true now but will be we know that. Layoffs have been part of the save the year and bonus strategy for SLT since SP bought the company. They laid off any of the talent in the public sector space in 2023. This is no surprise there is no hustle and grind in that space and your relationships and contracts mean nothing. Competition is eating your lunch here. Your lesson in this should be don’t throw away experienced and tenured employees in that know the business. Customers need to work with people who care and actually understand their process and their business. Your strategies have not worked and the customers, the business, and long term associates have suffered. And the ones you replace them with are never going to live up to what you threw away. But don’t cry for them they will all found bigger and better and will feel appreciated again. So much justice in that while this train wreck of a company continues to veer off track.

@fp layoff BCG. The money this company has paid them to just layoff a different group every 6 months and reboot the same strategies over and over pathetic and has certainly not grown the company or made it better. What a waste of money just lined the pockets of the senior leaders, owners and the consultants.

Public Sector is scheduled to send meetings and notices to affected ICs and leaders the first day of Q3.

There was a lot of discussions between BCG and RH over the past month and they settled on a 30% workforce reduction.

Details are being ironed out by change management this week and next.
