I used to be that person who believed in purpose at work. Now I'm just clocking in for the paycheck. They burned out all the passion a long time ago.

Bullchit. A leader inspires and carries their underlings with them on the journey. BS like "we have the best portfolio in the industry" and "the opportunity is ours" and other BS messaging from the clueless ELT shows how out of touch they are.
It's better than working fast food; making french fries and scrubbing toilets.
Motivating teams is what leaders do.

The leadership is just so bad. Not sure if it’s just my organization, but there is zero excitement or motivation. Heck my manager doesn’t keep up with what’s people are working on. It’s all just so performative.
Well said OP you encapsulate the feelings of almost everyone at Cisco. The passion and even the fun of being employed by this once great company has long gone.
