How can they RIF people in the same job they are hiring new people from India? How dare Hemsley say we are an American company serving Americans on July 4th. He needs to open his eyes and look around!! I feel there is a geograhical prejudice here! They continue to sent them PHI and other protected information to review to avoid using nurses and other medical people. SMH!

If you want to see the hiring blitz look up BPO in Reddit. You'll also see how much less they are making than the US counterparts. It's sad.
I had a family member use Obamacare and UHG was the provider. After they signed up and used UHG for their medical, they started receiving SPAM scams attempting to provide passwords and other information.
They were able to switch providers but they still receive scams via e-mail.
It's very odd to use American tax payers money and the governments fund to pay people who have no investment to support the American economy.
@bn there’s the issue …. currency! These offshore companies are building their middle class based on a FX pyramid scheme. The ‘great global consumer’ is a myth that the American businesses and US Universities have been peddling
@bm it will be a total collapse of the middle class. Between offshoring and AI (eventually) there won’t be enough “good” paying jobs. If there aren’t good paying jobs for Americans, American companies will have to sell globally.
You’ll have a working poor class and a concentration of extreme wealth with very little in between. It’s extremely concerning and we are seeing the beginning of it now.
@bj exactly right ‘as of now’. The US cannot be the world’s consumers (the FX trick) and work at McDonalds. The US government cannot keep printing money…Fed can no longer control inflation. So as the boomers either deplete their savings or pass away (i.e. the largest holders of old valuable dollars) so goes the worlds current US dollar based big consumers.
Total guess but if history repeats itself the US will reset the dollar … read about it we have done it many times.
Offshoring has been a thing for a long time. Manufacturing, IT Support. It’s easier to send information work overseas because as of now, there is no tariff or tax on a company to offshore knowledge work.
Easy. Same way they get around a union if there was one. Change the job title and vary the responsibilities every so slightly . And if there were laws nobody enforces a darn thing so most are not worth the ink used to write them.
This is what happened to manufacturing in this country a few decades ago.
