Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Can PIP be overridden by someone in the company

Is there any chance of a pip being stopped by a higher authority once you receive a NSI ranking?

Watch the pip plan for what it agreed. If it says to kiss the bosses as s tem times make sure you do it and it is documented or witnessed. You must complete every item in the pip or po-p plan as I call it. I know a piped that was dismissed because they did not finish a moc on time. The moc was delayed because the moc reviewer was out on medical. The stand in for the moc review was clueless and slow. The piper manager assured the pipee it was a ok. When the 3 months were up this deficiency was pointed out. The manager denied verbally letting the piper know it was OK for the moc delay. Get everything in writing it is your job and as on the line. One time a lazy pipee who deserved to be fired intimidated his supervisor into editing the pip to make them pass. The pip can be easy or very difficult to pass. I have seen some that were truly evil and sone that were a joke. One pipee was going to have to travel to baton rouge for cross training and back to houston. Another just had to get along with his team mates and not fight with them. He did not have to do any actual work just behave. He held his temper for tge 3 months and then started terrorizing everyone. This model employee later grabbed a fellow employee by the neck and threw said employee to the ground.

There are no exceptions. There is no upside to creating a fuss and going over your supervisors head, it will just annoy them and likely diminish your prospects of passing the program.

Functional presidents can excuse the pip. It was not uncommon pre 2019, but now it requires the functional president to go to DW and no functional president is doing that.

If you recall, when the pips started being used for layoffs, there was chatter how some were not using the ranking process correctly (ie not getting rid of the low performers).

Only if you do something so wrong that they decide to outright terminate you instead

No. The chance to stop it was during the PA meeting.
