@1py so those mtv aggs on the island dont have to take the train. Once the uplinking isnt needed CCC is BBB (byebyebye). Listen to the merger announcement with skydance and paramount. Control room in the cloud not long island. The only thing smart that comes out of the CCC is the PKI reports. I have to give it up to them. They run like the mob but that will get busted soon enough.

@1py If they were going to spin off the legacy cable channels the way NBC is doing, they would be most saleable if they came with their own operations center. Not saying that's what they're going to do, but it would make sense to hold onto it if that's a potential consideration.
@f7 Correct. TRL was uplinked from the Viacom NOC in Hauppauge.
@z4 You're right about the commute, but, If that's the case, why is the CCC on Long Island proceeding with its renovations? CBS in the city is supposed to be taking a chunk of the CCC for continuity of operations. Any ideas?
The block has to be rezoned for mix use development. That could take some time with the city. Then the BC would be rebuilt at the 10th Ave end where are the buildings are falling down anyway. They could lease the rest to a developer. Make no sense to sell due to the tax implications. It also makes no sense to have the 555, 1515, Stamford, and CCC when you could have one technical facility. Thats assuming Skydance wants to keep the cable properties. If the company really wants to save money move all it all to CT or NJ
@e1 They should relocate above 60th Street, but that's the only reason the location is lousy. As far as 1515 B'way, she gone. CBS Mornings, or any other show CBS has broadcast since Captain Kangaroo, is a mangy loser. Ellison should woo Fix talent and maybe he'll improve the share. Get funny comedies and talk show hosts. Stop believing every show is a bully pulpit for leftist agendas. As far as locations, most of the shows could be done from a closet. I don't know who's going to watch them though.

@e1 with the eventual demise of the c-band satellite spectrum, use of half the bulk equipment (dishes, waveguide, HPAs, etc.) in Long Island will be unnecessary. Access to LI is abysmal. The company won't centralize there.

Let’s be clear the studio can be anywhere but will stay local to on air talent. The operation center does not have to be at the same place. TRL was live every day from 1515 while the operations center was on Long Island. There is no need for multiple operation buildings. Waste of money.

@e1 Paramount is leaving 1515 broadway because it is likely going to be a casino , cbs mornings could stay at the BC for 2 years then relocate to florida or Georgia after the BC is sold.

The building is old. The technical aspects of the building are unable to be updated. Its location is horrible. Studios can be located at 1515 or really anywhere. The company is building out its new location on Long Island with anticipation of CBS moving there. There is plenty of room and easier to upgrade
