All the decent Noble Energy people couldn’t take that CVX mess and left. The good Hess people will do the same.

Not one person I know that went over to CVX in the buyout is encouraged about their prospects there....most have already quit.
Don’t try, just take the paycheck. Just like for noble employees they won’t allow Hess employees to move up claiming they “want a chevron person.” They bought Hess but they won’t respect or value the Hess experience.

Chevron doesn’t value careers anymore. We are all numbers that ELT can figure to get their bonuses. Plain and simple

I see on a lot of posters on these sites wishing they would be laid off. In cases of near retirement or ready to retire these type layoffs might send those out with a nice package to start their retirement, but for those years away and need to work it is crazy they want to be in this job market. If it is outside of oil and gas that might work with lower pay for those that have the higher pay at oil compnaies, but it might take someone more than a year or two to even get a chance to interview for the techincal jobs like geologist, geophysicist, or petroleum engineering. Plus, add in AI and the jobs like HR and other administrative jobs have a new job competitor to go up against in AI. If you are able to keep your job and still unhappy look for another job while you have a job, and try and make the most out of the job you have with good pay, insurance, and other benefits.

Chevron has its British mafia too. I would not be surprised if the two link up.

What about the Hess mafia, are they safe? You know the ones with British accents or the ones who are pushing their 50's and still party like they are 25.
