I'm just wondering if this could continue tomorrow. My old company always had layoffs mid-week, and I'm still new enough that I don't know how things work here.

From what I’ve heard in previous layoff trainings, they avoid doing them on Fridays so people have time to go to the unemployment office afterward.

@OP Since reading posts here since 2019, most ~95% are on Thursdays. Occasionally, there are so many in one week that they also do Wednesday in the same week as a Thursday RIF.
Rarely? Chances are very slim.
