Every other reason is secondary, if there were ever any valid reasons to begin with. Commuting is manageable in some cases, unless we’re talking hours to and from the office. Relocation isn’t a real option. It’s extremely expensive, it disrupts the entire family, and you’re still at high risk of being laid off just months later. God knows how many more cuts are around the corner, or how this whole upheaval will play out.

@OP OP talks about RTO like it is a bug and not a feature.
@ar ok boomer
Then quit. Find one of those remote jobs you think are plentiful.
Yes, RTO or be terminated
RTO is such a dead issue...let it rest in peace.The decisions have been made and communicated. Move on.
Looks like the RTO Troll is having second (mindless) thoughts.
RTO is indeed a tactic to make people quit.
A LOT of people need to quit at Intel.
...or be laid off.
@a4 But instead of cutting them, he put them in charge of deciding who to cut. Funny enough, they didn't cut themselves.
People have known this across every industry for over 2 years now.
Their "tactic" has to been remove any & every possible perk or benefit. it's like someone slapping you, then waiting to see if you fight back, and when you don't they slap you again & again. Still working here? Well, we're taking your bonuses. Not enough? Fine, we'll cut your salary. You're STILL here? How about we stop giving you raises in actual money and instead give you worthless RSUs that you'll lose when you leave? You haven't got the hint? Ok, no more free coffee. Ok, ok, we went too far with that. You can have the coffee. But now you have to come into the office, even though we've told you for years you didn't need to live near a site.
You still haven't quit? Jeez, what do we have to do?
LBT should lay off more managers. Remember cutting bureaucracy?
RTO also make managers job more relevant else LBT gona layout more managers
