I’ve seen it happen over and over. If you’re excellent at what you do, leadership hesitates to move you up because they don’t want to deal with the gap you'd leave behind. It’s backwards logic. Instead of developing a successor, they keep people stuck. Being good at your job shouldn’t be a trap. But that's Fiserv for you.

I have seen this as well. Instead, they hire externally with the expectation that legacy employees will train up.🙄
