Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Used to love Exxon, but benefits faded and morale declined

I remember when working here actually felt exciting. People were engaged, and there were real incentives to go above and beyond. But over time, that energy just vanished. The perks disappeared, transparency eroded, and we became just another headcount. Now I'm looking for a way out.

But the LBGTQ hiring and recognition is off the charts! At least that’s going well!

The pride of working for EM is definitely gone. I would leave but I’m nearly NRE so may as well ride it down.

@ah you need to call it a day and put in your papers.

Let’s face it, you’re overweight, haven’t exercised in years and can barely turn on a computer

@ad the place got so rotten because they apparently replaced perks with je-ks like you.

Yes, 25 years ago I loved coming into work. All of my colleagues were helpfull and you could feel the synergy. I was allowed to design and fabricate experiments. The bruacracy was minimal and proceses were easy. We could go and buy anything we needed from home depot or suppliers. It was dynamic and things got done quickly. Piping was minimal and we had no supervisors as we worked directly for the division we were in. My ranking stayed at the top third for many years. No sudden drops to the bottom like now. All of my peers were older experienced instead of the young clueless we have now. Moral was definitely higher and backstabbing was less. Overall it was a much nicer place to work at.

Im in EMIT and I feel you. Look at the EMIT management team now, and you can tell they're bunch of disconnected imposters who never accomplished anything apart from successfully jockeying their way to the top.
