Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Soon Intel will have no choice but to outsource

At this point, it feels like the reputation will speak for itself. Everybody knows by now about the complete lack of job security and plans to possibly split the company and sell off some parts. Word travels fast, especially in this job market. You can’t keep treating people like they’re disposable and expect fresh talent to line up.

Intel has their pick of MS grads at top 15 Universities. Make no mistake top talent end up at Intel all the time. Tom TAP Peterson for example. The American Community College and HS grads end up at AMD. Fortunately, AMD are outsourcing their talent to India where the smartest people live.

OP, you are the typical Intel employee... you think everything revolves around Intel. Believe it or not most people have no clue about what is happening at Intel. The rest of the industry doesn't care because Intel is so far behind that they aren't even in their rear view mirror anymore. It's a job and if Intel posts one people will apply.

@OP I heard that the company may also be forced to design and manufacture computer chips in order to stay in business.

They will have no choice!

OP speaks of outsourcing like it is something LBT is going to be forced to do.

It is Plan A, not Plan B.

If we want to get back to basics and stay focused...it is best to outsource all the unnecessary stuff to vendors who have core capabilities. Example : all the junk clouds that MF created with 140 engineers, could have been done at a cheaper cost with cloud providers

Back in the 2000s Intel was the hold grail for new graduates wanting a career in semiconductor industry. Now only those who cannot get job elsewhere or H1bs accept Intel jobs. Wonder if shareholders know this.
There are always far more people looking for jobs then there are jobs especially in AI era so Intel will always find some fresh young goats but not the best.
