Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

I’m considering an offer from a place that had a round of layoffs recently

I know it's a red flag but it's also better than having PIPs all the time. Or at least that's what I think. But I can't seem to decide. It's a smaller company, but not small. Would you do it?

If the other company is CVX, it's not any better.

Truth is EM really svcks these days. Go to the smaller company where your work and skills are needed and valued and you can directly see your contribution to profits. Be eager to get out of bed and do your best, unlike the sh1t show you're in. All that's left at EM now for good decent people is a slowly sinking farce.

I left to go to a smaller company, the company isn’t doing wonderful, but I am! There’s something to say about mental health and work life balance.

Depends how close to NRE. If > 5 years just go, if less maybe think a little more about staying. Also consider how your performance has been ranked in the last few cycles and how current role is going.
