You’re much more than whatever decision they made in a backroom spreadsheet. Keep your dignity, keep your head high, and move forward. This place isn't what it used to be anyway, it hasn't been for a long time. Arrogance and bad judgment turned something great into a mess.

Advice: never, ever trust your boss.
They will NOT protect anyone from a layoff. Either they can’t or they won’t.
My boss craved being “trusted.” Well, many, many people drank that kool aid only to find themselves out of a job.
There is one and only one boss you can trust: yourself. Never forget that.
