A friend was caught up in the Leatherhead England layoff. My friend was hired in UK, and has both UK and Indian citizenship. He was told he could take the redundancy offer or if wanted to stay with EM, could take a similar position in India with an 80% pay cut.
I have seen situations where EM employees were transferred to foreign countries without expat benefits when they had to go to that country for personal reasons, but never heard of an 80% salary cut.
So many UK only passport holders get transferred to India with Expat pay increases but just for the fact he has an Indian passport he gets offered 80% less salary. Seems to be systematic discrimination based on National Origin.
