Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Layoffs & Bonus - Worried!

The earnings call mentioned big cuts by Q4, and with the 9/30 bonus eligibility, I'm so anxious about my job.

Has anyone heard anything specific about which departments are affected, or the exact timeline? I'm trying to prepare, and any info would be a huge help. It's tough not knowing what's coming.

Thanks for any insights you can share.

"I listened to the entire earnings call- zero layoffs were mentioned. Do better!"

Cuts were mentioned, not layoffs. However, Employee costs are either the largest or second largest cost to the bank. Normally, even id--ts can make the connection. Do better!

Research what was done at SunTrust before the merger to get a vision. My dept. followed the same plan after the merger.
Always keep your resume updated, work on your personal network connections, never burn your bridges, and try to get at least one interview a year to test the waters.

Bill is so smart. Riff all your institutional knowledge for short term gain to please who, Mike Mayo? Then you don’t have any intelligent back room support, you’re in a frenzy trying to fill slots cheaply. All you get are the dredges that nobody else wants. Yet you spend like a fool on MD’s and new people to bring in new business and no back room to support them if they can bring business to the table. It’s like an NFL team with no offensive line expecting to compete for the Super Bowl.

So much of the off shore is not working out as planned... some departments are rehiring a few on shore... time delay and work quality issues .

@q4 they just hired two people for our group as well, this means nothing, and all part of the process.

@OP it appears as though more jobs are about to be offshored, especially in RMO. We were just told in a meeting that we will training the offshore team on how to do our job…. It has begun!

Not hearing this at all and there are tons of open postings and hiring managers not able to find the right people.
