Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

"Salary on Time, Everything Else Is Mess"

There's a recent review posted glassdoor that I found to be an accurate assessment of State Street. As you might be aware, most critical and honest reviews usually get purge from the website whenever State Street request for them to be removed. Before the review gets deleted, I've copied and pasted down below:

Title: Salary on Time, Everything Else Is Mess
Vice President

Pros:
The only silver lining is that the salary comes on time. That’s it.

Cons:

  1. Toxic teams thrive, with no accountability and zero emotional intelligence.
  1. The top management is not just incompetent, but reeks of corruption — protecting their own interests while the rest of the company suffers.
  1. No defined HR processes — policies are vague, implementation is arbitrary, and grievances vanish into a black hole.
  1. Obsessed with ticking boxes for mandatory trainings just to fool regulators into thinking all is well. Real learning and growth? Non-existent.
  1. Under the garb of “quality” and “strategic realignment,” they cut hundreds of employees — not for performance but to shield leadership failures and preserve their own chairs.
  1. They proudly call themselves a “bank captive,” but operate exactly like a low-end BPO — no domain expertise, no vision.
  1. Rampant internal politics with untrustworthy colleagues and leaders who play dirty to climb the ladder.
  1. Promotions are based on loyalty and survival, not merit — many leaders are there simply because they’ve stayed long enough, not because they’re capable.

Advice to Management:
Start by being honest — about your intent, your identity, and your incompetence. Until then, no amount of rebranding or training dashboards will fix what’s broken.

This is true in Alpha. Leadership’s been glued to consultants who delivered nothing but pretty slides and zero results. Meanwhile, the workplace is a mess—teams blaming each other left and right, and clients are ready to walk.

Fyi i was told by a person in management that cuts will continue on a monthly basis. What a load of cr-p the uppers take more money in salary to the tune of 6 million and cut all the north american workers that have carried this company.

This happens on other job site reviews too. They prefer to keep only the
positive to semi positive reviews only.

And any site that lists salaries at this company are 80% way too high.
