@OP I would think they'd avoid this like the plague. An anniversary is a time to reflect on what you've accomplished in the time between. There isn't really a good way to spin the state of the company. The story would more or less be "look how far we've fallen since then."
It’s because Intel just died. Celebrating its birthday is just rubbing salt into the wound. It’s embarrassing and shameful what we have become and those who got us here should ge held accountable.

The late Robert Noyce and the late Gordon Moore.. The empire they built is going down like this. Perhaps Mr. Paranoid, Andy Grove would lament the most among three legendary heroes of the empire.
