How does HpE handle resignations? If you give two weeks to they get rid of you earlier but still pay the two weeks? I guess there is no more owed vacation pay.

Re: Unused vacation payouts.
If you are in Calif (only 1 of 4 states that still have this law) you are owed, by law, all accrued (but not taken) vacation., Calif has a maximum payout enforced of 7 weeks. There are a few companies at their discretion that will pay all unused vacation..though the law only requires up to 7 weeks.
Also the company has to pay (Calif employees) unused vacation regardless of whether you resign, get laid off or take early retirement.
Last year I was fortunate my company paid me all 11 weeks of vacation I had 'banked' (plus severance) when I was laid off.
Hope this helps.
It varies by instance. Depends on the nature of your employment and departure.
Thanks Not comforting that incompetent supervisors make decisions
@OP it depends. At manager’s discretion. Obviously if you have a bad relationship with your manager he might axe you right away. Or if you’re going to Cisco, Dell.
