Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Love stopped trains?

Do you love coming to a complete stop and then getting the highball only after contacting the dispatcher? Do you love running through sidings continuously? How about squeezing your train in for a 32 foot clearance meet?

This will be coming daily. HDC management are forcing a half baked system onto the network with threats to dispatchers jobs if they don’t use it. Leading to constant stops, very close meets and scenic trips through sidings. The current HDC VP is weak in every aspect of leadership except threats. His only hope is to continue riding his daddy’s name to better positions. Eventually the dispatchers will get smart and just walk out, that will certainly lead to a leadership change from the “team” of VPs who are just trying to justify their existence.

The dispatchers still have a chance to send in their A cards. I am not sure what they are waiting on or what they are afraid to lose. If they can't see the writing on the wall, then they are ignorant AF. Do you think the union dispatchers have an Iron Pulse book which is only being used as a way to create a paper trail to get rid of people? Nope! Do you think the new bonus structure will exceed the compensation and health care benefits of union dispatchers? Nope. Get your heads out of the sand. Do yourself a favor and "be well" or as well as possible. This current regime is here to cut your career short.

Engineering, maintenance side. We dont get work done if the dispatcher cant grant us on track authority. Since the v-mans previous cuts expanding dispatcher territories we now wait up to 45mins to get our track authority request approved. 45 mins just waiting. Now there is a war between signal and track bcuz of power switch trouble calls. The real reason is neither dept has adequate head count to properly maintain / fix / respond to anything. If engineering employees have to wait loooonger on dispatchers,,,,, it gonna get worse.
