How can someone manage a situation where a senior colleague perceives them as a competitor rather than a collaborator, while maintaining professionalism and discretion?

Bring in an order of latkes!
Just perform to the best of your abilities and show them where the limits are - especially when they try to fu-k you. Simple. Always worked for me. Unfortunately, a by-product of this is that people will not like you very much - but who cares, I rather not have "friends" at work, than pretending that I like them and su-k up.
I’ve noticed that my SVP often takes over or redistributes work that was initially assigned to me.
You can't do much about others' insecurities.
