And not just in terms of money, though the added commute and office-related expenses are significant. The real cost is time. I lose hours every single day just getting to and from the office. And once I’m there, I lose time too. I’m noticeably less efficient. It’s harder to focus, harder to stay on track, surrounded by people I don’t even work with. None of it makes sense. It’s pointless. It’s wasteful. And honestly, it’s just stupid.

People went in to work for centuries. You are not special.
Just go to work and be an adult for once.
Stop your whining. This page is full of entitled wackos. If you don’t want to go back to the office, find a new job. Remember you’re not special and definitely replaceable.
I see HR / troll management is back with their gaslighting BS.

A lot of people roll in at 9:30-10 and are gone by 1. And we are on what, week 2? Don’t hate the player hate the game.
If my commute wasn’t so long I would probably do the same.

I 💯 agree for senior people. But junior folks need those touch points and learn from observing and form a culture.
I don't want to rto, I don't like rto but trying to present objectively.
It is indeed a wasteful proposition from a worker efficiency standpoint. However ... Not nearly as wasteful as completely empty buildings. I was in Hartford and while at my desk the lights would go out do to no discernable motion on the floor. I would have to stand up and wave my arms to turn the lights back on.
Remember this come survey time - not like they take any corrective action anyway
That is not nearly the amount of time we lose collaborating with the otherside of the globe.
We lose 24 hours for an email or request to be read. Then on average it is another 48 hours to get what is needed.
but we don't create the strategy or rules - our job is to just follow along.
