Does anybody here use LinkedIn Premium? Is it worth the subscription? Is there anything as part of the package that could help with job search?

@bf Correct. 24 years and lots of solid relationships with former managers...or so I thought. Most are chicken $#!+s worried about Dells policy of not vetting former employees. I get it legally, but really???
I tried the free one-month LinkedIn Premium trial — it was fine, but honestly not worth paying for. It took me about three months to land a job using a mix of different sites, but funny enough, I ended up finding it through LinkedIn.
There’s a ton of scams and fake job posts out there, even on LinkedIn. One thing that helped, though, was using their filters to cut out a lot of the junk. I applied to fewer jobs overall, but they felt more legit. That said, some still seemed kind of fake — maybe companies just posting to meet some internal requirement.
If you're job hunting, I'd say focus on the listings that are verified or have clear company info. It’ll save you time and help avoid the scammy stuff.
Yes Greenhouse has been the best. Not even one screening call from freaking Workday with AI cr-p they use
For the price they charge - I think $250? - no, absolutely fkng not. Realistically the only people who benefit from premium are recruiters and hiring managers.
Greenhouse is the site I used to find my dream job
I didn't.
@bf : I have found dell "family" or team to be the most spiteful and fake . They are like piranhas. They will feed on you the moment they sense any type of "weakness" . And the weakness is honesty, compassion and humility. They have thrown anyone with humility under the bus.
To expect anything remotely Human from my team at Dell ( especially the business side) is useless..
It is Karma that they got laid off , soon after I was pushed out.. and they are STILL out of job after 2 years. But they wont say that in their linkedin profile LOL. I got a job within 2 months. TIME is the greatest leveler.
Learn from Dell experience. Dont be like those people. Good things will happen if you do go good to others.
LinkedIn premium is worthless. The service you get as part of severance is useless as well. Get ready because your Dell network will forget you exist and will do their best to distance themselves. Very few people replies I have found help from total strangers than from people I know.
Simply applying for jobs isn't going to cut it. General rule is to reach out to 7 contacts per day on LinkedIn who have open reqs at their company. Have a resume tailored for the role they are offering and ask for a call
LikedIn did nothing for me when looking for a job. And my network was mostly Dell people who forgot I was alive after being let go.
It's likely that you'll get your next opportunity through your network, actually having a real person hand your CV to the person who is hiring. LinkedIn is useful in that regard.
I would say that you use everything that you can. But yeah, I think these different tools just deal with so much digital noise, a literal avalanche of applications, that even if you are a great candidate, you are just lost in the noise. Personally, I found the by far best way to land your next job is to use all of the contacts that you have. Any friends, ex-bosses, colleagues, etc. Anything to rise above the noise.
I landed a new role in about 6 weeks. LinkedIn was ok for getting my head in the game and getting some ideas, but it went absolutely nowhere. It just doesn't work. I used Premium for some LinkedIn Learning to bone up on technical concepts I was weak in, but that was about it.
The best success I had was in a local networking / job-seeker organization where I linked up with a headhunter. I combined that with a huge amount of resume work, including paying for an AI editing service / tool (resume worded, I think?).
I like the AI featue for cover letters and extra In Mail. Other than that, it's more helpful now that I'm self employed. I find more benefits now than when I was looking for stale corporate jobs.
LinkedIn and Indeed are worthless, the links capture your data and sell it. I've had a ton of spam calls, text messages, and junk mail increase when I used both of those sites. I now use google to find jobs and go to the company website instead of clicking the links. It's an employers market due to so many layoffs across all sectors.
LinkedIn and Indeed are useless, too many bots, fake postings, try applying directly to the employer and polish your CV for important keywords bcs of AI filters
Unfortunately most of the jobs on LinkedIn are stale..
