There most def was a “not LR” in webex and other orgs. It was not large enough to be announced so there isn’t a link. The ppl who lost their positions had their last day on Monday. They aren’t lying when their LinkedIn profiles say, open to work.

The largest cut in Cisco history was around 6,500 jobs (~9%) back in 2011.

In 2001Cisco's first layoff took it from 48,000 to 35,000, or 13,000 of 48,000, or 27%. At that point the market and Cisco's stock price were already in significant decline and it was claimed to be a one and done and then Cisco went on a layoff rampage doing layoffs, sometimes quarterly, every year since.

I don't see how Cisco near highs of almost 25 years in a market fueled by extreme debt (based on the rate the US debt clock is advancing over a couple weeks the US is adding about $100B of private and public sector debt per week, or roughly $15,000/yr for every person in the US, so if you're in a family of four your share is $60,000/yr of additional debt) would buck the trend in a way that would freak out in alphabetical order: customers, employees and investors.

Unless WebEx is 30% of the company and Cisco is closing it rather than selling it I don't see why everyone is blaming OP for the 30% number.

30% would be around 22,000 to 25,000 employees (based on Cisco’s ~77,000–83,000 global headcount), which is way beyond anything they’ve done before. So again OP, stop your lying!

• Historical cuts for comparison:
• Feb 2024: ~5% reduction (~4,000 jobs)
• Aug 2024: ~7% (~5,600 jobs)
• Feb 2023: ~5% (~4,100 jobs)
• The largest cut in Cisco history was around 6,500 jobs (~9%) back in 2011.
So 30% would triple the biggest layoff ever announced—and trigger global media frenzy, regulatory filings, and likely stock impact. None of that is happening.

So again OP stop your lying!

The cut will be close to 30%, time to trim the fat.

I really wish people would stop getting my hopes up.

While I can’t disprove the OP I find it unlikely. If there is going to be a LR it’s something CR would announce during the next earnings call.

There were some stealthy layoffs last month. No doubt they were done as a last resort.
