Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

No paycheck is worth this sh-tshow

A couple of years here? Sure - if you’re saving up and planning your escape. Otherwise? Jesus, this place is just awful. If they could, they’d have you working 24 hours a day. My manager is a screaming pile of arrogance, incompetence, and disrespect. Half the overtime? Caused by their cluelessness or a power trip. Some teammates are decent, but honestly, who can stay a decent human under this pressure? So please, lay me off. There have to be more normal jobs out there.

@pc I have to disagree with this. I recently left and joined a smaller company for a 10% comp increase. While the role is supposed to have more responsibilities, there's much less politics and infighting, so the workload feels so much less than it was even in my last role. I wish I jumped years ago...

If you are looking at 50k less you are applying to the wrong roles

As someone who was laid off it’s a tough market. Chevron, conoco, shell all are doing layoffs. And I’ve had companies call me and be like “we know you would do great in this role but there is no way we can meet the salary and benefits we know you had at bp”. Like they are willing to see me but it would be like a 50,000 pay cut.

Leave if you hate it so much. People don’t have your negative energy bringing everyone else down with things the way they are.

No one is begging you to stay, you ain’t that important, sweet pea.

My goodness that’s a bit dramatic. Why don’t you go and have a nice lie down and a cup of tea? You are being hysterical
