There are still a lot of good professionals here at Five9, i want to preface by saying that. However, some high profile leaders (new and old) have let us down. The next 12 months will make or break us. We can rally and stay relevant or die. It’s that simple. The question is, do we have the right people leading us? Post your honest thoughts. No more sour ex’s or bitter current’s. Just transparent and honest assessment. Whatever position/role you are at. Please voice your opinion. Just like other Five9ers, I am tired of the bashing on this board. Here we go...

These two:
- Mike. He is a good person, but super dated and doesn’t meet requirements of time.
- Ajay. Extremely unqualified toxic “leader”.
I don’t really understand negative sentiment on this forum against Panos and JDR tho. I think they both pretty cool. But it just my opinion.
@c1 Oh, so people being concerned about their livelihoods and mental well-being is "boring" to you? You do realize that this is how people support themselves and their families, right? That without a job people lose their health insurance. You do understand that at least, RIGHT?!? RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT?
This sums up what the entire post is concerning, which is that executive leadership, of which you're mostly likely a part, is bereft of care or duty. Please do us all a favor and find new employment. You've clearly failed at this, as the company's stock has tanked, incompetent people have been hired, nepotism has run rampant and unchecked, new product development is non-existent and customers are choosing our competitors over us (and quite frankly, they should!).
Good day, sir!
We don’t have the right leaders in place and it’s as clear by the morale and the musical org chart as it is by the stock price. But Mike won’t leave on his own - he will sell us off to someone that’ll let him stay “relevant” in some capacity before that happens. He thinks too highly of himself and isn’t self aware enough to do that.
@g5 not
Good reviews, unfortunately nothing will be done, the problem is that Mike controls/is the board and as such will continue to lead the three ring circus of incompetence. Our only hope is a sale or a new job.
Blame the silent leadership that has not spoken out, knowing what's going on, and just ignore it because this culture fosters it. I think the blame game is done, there is too much out there, and too much cover-up that no good fight is going to solve this. Everyone is reading this but no one in leadership wants to take it for the team! How about we have an honest all-hands next time where real issues get addressed and for once we see who really has it in them to stand up to what is right. How many lay-offs do we need, how many more people's mental and physical health are we going to impact before someone admits it that enough is enough?
We know based on the views that the entire company from low to high is on this forum daily watching what will be said next. Who is ready to put their job on the line to speak the truth. I commend Ashish as the only person I have ever seen who questioned anything while the rest praise like sheep.
CEO is completely absent, and Ajay the CPO is filling in while having absolutely no knowledge or direction with an agenda to just fire people and not provide any direction or innovation. CTO is too invested in nitty gritty process BS rather than leading innovation. Also people have no motivation to work hard due to poor salaries and even worse middle managers
Perfectly summarized. Well put.
I mean it’s pretty clear the problem comes from the top. Five9 hasn’t had the bounce back of all the other cloud darlings of the Covid era. The one major change in that time frame is going back to the old CEO. No face time on CNBC, no fighting the good fight and keeping the company visible to the general public. Right now with all the competition in AI and Agentic AI why is there absolutely zero visibility?
Basically, he’s not built to be the leader of a company with a stock price over $10. It’s residual luck that it’s in the high 20’s, not due to effort.
Agree except Gaurav is/was a dolt and Jonathan has never looked into a mirror and didn't fall in love.
Mike and his trail of nepo hires all need to go. He's incompetent and is only interested in his and his nepo's paydays.
And to person below, with this much trash at the top, there's very little the little people can do. If competitors setup a job fair in the parking lot, you'd see everyone in San Ramon that day.
Not really the place is it? do you not think our competition take a look at this?
Grow up, put the effort in or perhaps fu-k off if the place is making you unhappy
Yes, lots of people still here, fighting the good fight
Getting a bit boring now
