@bv
Try going back to 2019 when CUSA had the big layoff or 2020 when CVI did the same - -huge lay-offs. I'm not sure about CUSA but CVI layoffs mainly were long time employees that had gray hair, predominantly white and were "red-lined" in their respective salary positions.
Hmmmmm......

It's a sneaky way to avoid issuing WARN notices and issuing severance via fluidity lists. Document everything, folks. Then consult a lawyer. No doubt lawsuits against Canon are coming. A matter of time when karma will but management in the posterior region.

@pw - If he cared about his employees he would do more for us. He laid off 700 people last year and that work fell on many of us to to figure out how to make it work.

We are overworked. Many people are looking for new jobs and no one is willing to take on the low salaries they are paying.

At a minimum, we should be getting some sort of “cost of living” adjustment to our salary. Inflation and tariffs affect the working man/woman too. Reducing or limiting the company’s compensation or salary increases to turn a profit says to me he could care less how he does it or who he hurts.

It’s all about the numbers, not the people.

It’s all about profit over people. The Japanese don’t care about American workers. They need to report back to the motherland that we are making money.

Don’t think for a second this company cares about you. If they cared, they would have to explain some of the people they laid off back in July of 2024! They were salary dumps more than strategic decisions.

It’s really hard to go to bat for this company after what I have seen here. We are all just a number waiting for the next round of “terminations”.
