Thread regarding American Electric Power Co. Inc. layoffs

Trying to stay positive at this place is too exhausting

I like many others, I have begun crossing the days off the calendar until I can retire. The days of devoting 40 plus years to this place are over. The workload and tempo we must now bear should qualify field employees for full retirement after 25 years. Promoting from the outside instead of from the internal pool of dedicated employees is a deal breaker. Law enforcement and firefighters can retire with full benefits after 20 years. First responders run towards the danger to save lives and serve communities. Corporate officers run towards the biggest piles of money to enrich themselves.

Exactly what @2cca+1qB6FXi3 said.

@1d0 There are no kings. As Americans we are all king slayers. It is time to smash the throne of lies and reclaim our God given and US Constitution guaranteed sovereignty as American citizens. Defy, Deny, Depose.

Su-kle at the power te-t and do all the a__ kissing you can you mid level manager of absolutely nothing. If not for the guys under you, you wouldn’t make it. Go home at night and love your ugly wife who you probably also treat horribly like she also owes you something. You would have the job you have with AEP if you had any other skills in life. You are lazy useless and down right full of s__t. I feel like that should pretty well properly describe most everyone on the management team hear at the “wholesome and caring” American Electric Power “family”.

@cm The honest and hard working toiler dies honest and poor while the deceitful and trifling employer dies deceitful and wealthy. In the end a man's character is all he owns and all he is remembered for.

It's sorta depressing how many people can see themselves in that statement. It's just one of the many examples of how this job is ki-ling us slowly.
