Pleasanton’s city government and school district are both downsizing due to financial problems (sic).
The city laid off 2 employees while eliminating vacant roles, and the school district cut over a dozen staff following years of enrollment decline and the loss of federal COVID relief funds.
Layoffs are part of a $5 million reduction package that includes trimming library hrs & senior staff pay.
