- Winnebago Industries has confirmed 111 job cuts as it closes its Charles City and Waverly manufacturing facilities. The RV maker previously laid off nearly 200 employees in June and is now exiting Charles City entirely, ending a 27-year history in the town. Company leadership attributes the decision to reduced consumer demand for recreational vehicles, inventory backlogs, and broader cyclical industry shifts. The layoffs will be phased through December 2025.
