At some point you will have to wonder if all this is worth it. If this is want you envisioned / promised when you joined ford. And if they started treating me like a dog, then I’ll be a dog and bite back before leaving.

Yeah, I stopped letting fear - especially fear of what some multi-national wants - guide my life years ago. I’ll be doing my job wherever I need to do it and I won’t be making pointless, arbitrary trips to Dearborn to sit in an office on Teams calls. Ford can make whatever decision they like based on that. There is no Pot-of-Gold retirement for me and my eventual widow; I have no golden handcuffs.

That said, there’s only two pieces of information you need to know in order to determine that this has nothing to do with improving collaboration:

  1. All the remote workers in the US aren’t required to relocate. Many leadership positions were filled with “talent” spread across the country. Many of us will be forced into pointless commutes under the leadership of someone sitting in another state.
  1. Jobs for programs led in the US are still being shifted overseas. Collaboration has a price tag it seems. Almost all of us will be forced into pointless commutes just to sit on Teams calls with the half of our teams on the other side of the world.

If you let them push you around, they will always push you around. You don’t have to let Ford Motor Company treat you like a commodity.

The whole thing is a sh=t show again. There is no common places for the entire team and not enough spaces for everyone. Coming to work for beauty looks and badge swipes. Everyone who knows where ... Productivity ???

They will use AI and Machine Learning to generate reports and decide which employees should be terminated before and after Sept. Each CDSID will be assigned a "score" based on badge swipes and TSIO (Time Spent In Office).
