Seems Hock has cooled on custom chips in last call and shut someone down. Also rumours about 6month delays, the cost benefit trade off with customer chip not being so great in addition Google also partnering with Mediatek

This post makes no sense - ASIC (application specific integrated circuits), AKA 'custom chips' are what Broadcom does, as opposed to GPU (general processing units) that NVDIA does. Not cooling on main bread & butter, and Google partners w many but BRCM still the main one and they pouring more $$ in that, as stated in Alphabet's July 24 beat-the-street earnings call.
