QQ... The Hippocratic oath doesn't explicitly prevent a doctor from lying but modern medical ethics do emphasize transparency and honesty.
Does a UHG employment contract supersede the hippocratic oath, or are doctors when asked in a deposition, under oath, etc required to tell the truth about systematic upcoding and Optum products that find more complexity to bill for more reimbursement?

The oath is hogwash.. no Dr swears by it .. if they did they would be working for cheaper fees! The AMA is the union controlling the supply of Dr.
@km There's a reason why one works at UHG when there's otherwise a doctor shortage.
The doctors I worked with at Optum were loyal to the company first and all else second. I saw very unethical decisions all pointing to profit first, patients second. Another reason I left that cesspool of a company.
@OP Medicare has regulations that require everyone including doctors and staff to report any suspected fraud. And your friend would know this as they are well versed in what the Medicare guidelines are.
