What’s happening there? Long time employees are suddenly out sick for extended periods of time due to stress and horrible leadership. Not just one, several.Any insights?

Dramatic over embellishment much? You might need medication because that in no way reflected anything I’ve seen at SAS for over 30 years.
But yeah I’m sure you’ll stick to your g-ns that it was a legit representation of the way things are.
"Approaching 30 years at SAS - it's more political and less focused on the client."
The aspect of being less focused on the client showed a broader and quicker stride once customers started seeing Viya and providing their feedback to SAS. Much of that feedback was ignored. Sometimes Oliver did the ignoring right in front of customers, some of which were c-level. That aro--ed alot if concern about his apparent lack of business sense, much less reading the room. That was a catalyst for me to accelerate my departure plan. Who knows, maybe customers also had the same reaction?

This place will make anyone sick. Thank goodness for PTO. I, too, have seen several people take leaves of absence. I say, if you can afford to, take it!
If all from the Globalization Department are AWOL then perhaps it is an unnecessary department?
Sounds like another feel good money waster like the Art Department!
Stress and horrible leadership - you mean like the entire company? Cause that's how it feels.
When the word "global" is used as a replacement name or new name for an entity, then expect way more bureaucratic BS that will slow progress. SUGI becoming SGF is a prime example.
