$836/week for maximum unemployment benefits in OR ?!
Calif, with much higher cost of living in the major population centers, tops out at $450/wk.

For Oregon, I believe the 1 year timer starts when you file. Depending on your previous salary, max Oregon payout is $836 weekly for a maximum of 26 payments in a 52 week period (~22k max total payout). When you file, the first week is a non-payment wait week. Because you are getting severance payments, you probably won't get unemployment insurance payments while you are still receiving severance. Perhaps you should apply for unemployment insurance 2-3 weeks before your severance payments end so that the wait week doesn't interrupt your weekly cash flow

Yes, apply immediately...it may take a couple weeks on line to get a check. Usually around $839 a week.

Oregon - yes. Unemployment is a state-by-state thing though. Check with your own state.
