Nearly 100 employees are being laid off from ImageFIRST Healthcare Laundry Specialists, LLC, located at 2030 South Broadway in St. Louis, after Barnes-Jewish Hospital opted to end its outsourcing arrangement and bring laundry services in-house. The company filed a WARN Act notice with the state of Missouri on July 3, 2025, indicating that layoffs will begin on September 8 and continue in phases until the facility’s full closure on December 31, 2025. A total of approximately 92 non-union workers across a wide range of roles, including production associates, maintenance techs, custodians, supervisors, lead operators, and the plant manager, will be permanently terminated. The company confirmed that all impacted employees will retain their current pay and benefits through their layoff date unless they resign, retire, or are terminated for cause. This closure follows similar job cuts in the region, including a mortgage servicer in St. Charles County and Des Peres Hospital, both of which also impacted dozens to hundreds of jobs.
