Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Any new details on the telecommute policy update?

I’m still completely confused.

@OP read the other threads. This is a "quiet layoff" to avoid paying severance.

After Labor Day, it's likely extended to anyone within 30mi of any office. Exceptions may be made for "top talent" at their managers' discretion. Deeper impacts (relocation is required for those in bumblefark) depend on how high attrition is (I wouldn't count on it right away) and how the stock performs (I don't see a way to growth given our current operating model/leadership).

@ab none of us went into the office today. Good luck firing 35 of us.

Might as well just make it a clean sweep and do 5 days in office. Who are they joking with referring to 4 days as “hybrid”? All my friends I know who are in hybrid roles go to the office less frequently than that.

If you're hybrid in DC or MN.. You're in the office 4 days as week.

If you are a telecommuter.. you're fine as is. For now.

AFAIK, new hires/contractors are not being allowed to be Telecommute.
