Is there such a thing at Ford?

You can do a short term disability if stress related and your doctor signs off. Quite frankly, I am surprised we're all hanging on as well as we are right now without having had one of these already.
US employee here (salaried). See your primary physician, explain your symptoms and let him/her know you need a leave. They will diagnose (eg depression). My physician was very helpful and experienced and understood what was necessary for employers. I suffered in a big way, did this and was on paid leave for several months (a few yrs ago). Best thing I could have done for my mental health.
FMLA is what you need to investigate, and it needs to be with a doctor/mental health specialist. Do not mention anything about it to your employer. It's with your doctor and even the details behind it aren't shown to your employer.
Of course there is. Just don't forget to flush!
No. Stress isn’t a protected condition for any leave, Sabbatical, or FMLA. Once you tell them you are stressed and need a leave, they will have a conversation about how you can’t handle the job and lay you off at next chance.
Probably the best thing to do is see a therapist to help with stress management and then look for a job at a different company. If you try and move positions, they will get mad, retaliate and again lay you off at next chance.
@a2 not true. Medical leave exists.
Yes. You need a doctors note and a plan to get better and apply for FMLA.
Sabbatical policy is on life at ford.
Learn to play the JIRA game. That's all anyone cares about. Make sure your JIRAs are up to date and either in progress or closed. You could easily make a high salary at Ford by being a JIRA ticket closer.
No you'll have to resign. It'd by design.
That way they don't have to pay severance
There should be...
