Thread regarding Cricket Wireless layoffs

Cricket decline

I went to 7 Cricket stores this past weekend in the Atlanta, Gainesville and Sarasota regions. Not one customer at any of the stores I visited. Keep note this is a holiday weekend with above average shopping. I try to do this every year on our annual road trip and this is the only time that we have experienced zero customers.

I couldn’t help but think back to the things that have been written here and Reddit about the leadership of our company, particularly our VP team. Time to make changes and fast. I’m shocked the owners of the ARC’s haven’t screamed for it!!

@c60 umm. The decisions Matty is taking to line his pockets, and his incompetency shows. He is a nothing burger, that came from a totally non IT background, got a job here because he had to run from California - for the same extra curricular activities he is doing here. He had his buddy JD to save him and install him as CIO here. He is taking decisions with the sole purpose of securing his stash with vendors, and doesn’t give a damn about what users of his org need - be it marketing , sales , AR’s or support. Companies don’t fail on their own. It is either because of incompetent leadership, sabotage , or self interested parties - who have no vested interest in seeing a company succeed. Believe me I know enough people at T and Cricket , who just are waiting to collect their package and retire, they are just coasting and pretending to work. Matty not only is coasting , but also is lining his pockets heavily. Multiple platforms that directly affect AR’s have been handed over to his favorite vendor, with zero accountability. I am sure T knows this , but either they don’t care or moving slower than a tortoise.

@bn1
Matt Haymons...our crooked, philandering VP/CIO.......
He is a major reason for the decline of the brand. He deals out millions of dollars in IT contracts that result in no innovation while lining his pockets with kickbacks. It is well known as is his "extra curricular" activities with some employees...
Dealers that are posting, you are directly affected by this- demand change!!!

Dealer here. Been around a while and never seen this struggle. Problem is that att is struggling so cricket is suffering. Att is spending billions and cutting jobs and budgets to cover it. In turn the cricket brand is affect. Now they are cutting jobs on cricket side. My rep in Ohio told me she heard they just let a bunch of people go in Atlanta office.

Pay attention to what is going on in IT. It directly affects the stores and your ability to prosper. It is also deteriorating the brand. IT leadership plays with tech for ego not for actual benefits for the company. Vendors are influencing decisions, have been handed way too much control, make false promises and mask true issues that exist. I see it every day. Us employees really have no say because Matt loves his chosen vendor. (reasons mentioned in numerous posts) It is a mess.

Authorized retailer here. We are aware of the situations going and know we are directly affected by any turmoil at corporate. A few of us are talking to one another about actions that we can take.
