Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

No accountability

This (among others things) is a major reason for Intel’s problems.

Raptor lake failures? MJ still here.
Chronic MSS loss to AMD - SR kept her job throughout

No one takes the blame for failures.
It’s pathetic and encourages even more failures - I mean - why not? Your job is safe either way.

I know Intel had issues going from 14nm to 10nm. I googled it and it seems we had issues with 7nm and 5nm. Were we successful with anything between 10nm to 18A?

I have 1:1 with a VP weekly in the past two years. He has no knowledge of manufacturing or what gaps in the fab that we should work on to improve. He is a complete 0-knowledge yet he made decisions for all key projects. He wrote weekly for the organization, by either copying from other’s weekly or writing political right sentences which does not reflect reality. I was thinking all the time that I can train my high school son to be a better VP.

I don't think Intel even knows what a node is anymore.

Non-tech MBAs with shiny ppts should be banned from exec positions, if ShitTel wants any chance of making it.

SR was one of the worst execs. Imagine taking a person with a background in HR and making her a tech VP of one of their core businesses, and then the people here deny that there was any DEI initiative as the framework for that whole thing

@OP
Some of the major design flaws showed up in 2017-18 with the spectre/meltdown flaws. Intel swept these flaws under the rug trying to bury performance issues. This just piled onto the lack of leading edge process nose.

Actually it’s the worker bees that get blamed and end up in the unemployment line. The execs eventually get pushed out, but with golden parachutes worth millions.

Emp Taking 2hr lunches and two 1hr breaks, and hoping to survive the layoff. Yeah, good luck.......But knowing Intel, they're likely safe. WTF!?

Intel is one of those companies whose leaders fail miserably and push the company into hard times, then say they're the best ones to navigate through the hard times. When they fail at that, they take a fat bonus and pat themselves on the back.
