Compassion for their fear? Managers are not your mommies. Grow a pair and do your job. Or leave. This whiny attitude is probably why we’re in this shape.

None of the CSM's that I've spoken to are thrilled to now be expected to fill a technical role as well. I know of at least 3 that are already looking to exit and their manager said "fine go elsewhere". He doesn't have any compassion for the fear they are currently experiencing. Nor does he have any people skills.

a popular theory going around is - merge the CSM role with the SE role, cross train them all (a laughable task) so when the next round of sackings takes place they can cut by salary rather than talent.
this happened at my previous place of employment. we all became line items in a spreadsheet.
thoughts?

To be fair he replaced 3 EVP’s (if I’m not mistaken), so probably a cost saving move… having said that, this is a further sign of continued struggles and expectations. No serious growing business combines such roles.

Seems like they're adding C-level execs almost as fast as they're losing customers. More hands in the executive till while workers get the boot?
