Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Are H1B visa holders untouchable?

Interesting that no H1B visa holders are affected by this round of layoffs. Makes you wonder, are they considered more valuable than the rest of us?

H1B can NOT be considered cheap labor any longer since Trump changed the rules in his first term to give H1B employees the same salaries of surrounding communities for that job position. That's why H1Bs make more money then you and I. If you worked for a company for 20 years, your salary goes up by 1% to 3% average over the years, but for H1Bs, they make more because the surrounding communities wages are based on inflation, while your salary was based on the revenues the corporation made. That's why, you may have gotten 0% salary increase for several years of those 20 years, but H1Bs salaries get adjusted based on inflation. Take a look at this website and look through all the different years. You'll learn a lot.

Time to kick them out. For years, these greedy US Corporations have taken too much advantage of US workers. Time to give those jobs back to the US employee and graduates. Too many Chinese and Indians, and migrants. America first for Americans. Just like India is first for Indians and China is first for Chinese.

H1Bs are going to go home because it's a TEMPORARY visa. And Trump is just starting. Wait till you see what happens in the next 3 years. American jobs for American Citizens.

@a8 If you think H1B employees make low salary. Guess what, they make more than you or me. Check out this website and put in Intel Corporation as the employer. You'll learn a lot.

OP, would you work for H1B wages? If the get fired they may have to leave the country so they are not here risk free. Would you work under these conditions?

America wants to bring all the jobs back to America but Americans don't want to do that kind of work. It is a tough nut to crack but they should figure it out before they deport all of the people doing the work.

This guy does not have any other topic to discuss. Every other day keep coming with same topic. .
There is no point in this question. The layoff has its own criteria. It. H1b or non h1b , it is same for all.

After winning an H1B application for a cheap laborer why would Intel cut them? Imported workers who take existing American’s jobs are cheap and they don’t say a peep. Not sure why anyone would be loyal to a country that tries so hard to replace them.
