Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Juniper CEO Rami Rahim will lead HPE networking business

At the time the deal was announced, HPE said HPE Vice President and COO John Schultz would serve as chief integration officer, overseeing the integration of the two companies.

Furthermore, HPE said at that time that Juniper CEO Rami Rahim would lead the combined networking business, reporting to Neri.

In addition, HPE had said current HPE Executive Vice President and General Manager of Aruba Phil Mottram would “continue to play an integral leadership role once the two organizations are combined.”

SH is a strong force and voice---and he was impt in acquisition negotiations. That team will have a lot to say with networking strategy. The mist acquisition for jnpr was nearly a reverse acquisition. They kept or took key roles, investments favored the direction and starved other areas.

First law of mergers, who ever is in charge on day 1 wins. "HPE Networking" will be juniper leaders, juniper processes and juniper tech with all things Aruba slowly, but inevitably, being pushed to the irrelevance and then out the door.

Holding pattern job.

"Phil Mottram is Executive Vice President, Growth Markets for HPE.

In this role, Phil engages directly in key strategic markets around the globe, working with leaders across the company to identify and take action on opportunities. Phil is currently focused on opportunities in the Middle East and India, engaging with customers, partners, government officials, regulatory bodies and leaders of initiatives such as “Made in Saudi Arabia”.

Prior to this, Phil led the HPE Aruba Networking business, where he was responsible for driving the strategic direction and delivery of networking and intelligent edge solutions across campus, branch, data center, and remote worker environments, covering all aspects of wired, wireless LAN, and wide area networking (WAN). In his more than three years in this role, he delivered record revenue growth and profitability through smart innovation, operational discipline, and strategic portfolio expansion, including the acquisitions of Axis Security and Athonet.

Phil joined HPE in 2019 to run the Communication and Media Solutions (CMS) business—a leading provider of telecommunications software. Under Phil’s leadership, CMS introduced key 5G product innovations, saw significant growth in orders, revenue, and improved operating margin.

Phil has more than 30 years of experience in the global technology sector, having lived and worked in Europe, USA, and Asia Pacific. Prior to joining HPE, Phil was the Chief Revenue Officer at communications infrastructure provider Zayo Group, where he was responsible for all customer-facing functions. Before Zayo, he was responsible for Vodafone’s UK Enterprise Business Unit, where he led significant transformation programs, returning the fixed-line business back to revenue growth.

Phil holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Information Systems from the University of Lincoln, UK. He occasionally participates in triathlon events for charity, including the World Ironman Championships in Kona, Hawaii, the Austrian Ironman, and Escape from Alcatraz in San Francisco.

Never mind that last comment. I see the answer is Phil Mottram, who’s going to need a Motram for that headache.

Who is Rami Rahim displacing as head of HPE Networking? Who is getting demoted or fired outright?

  1. Divest the Instant On Business HPE must divest its global "Instant On" campus and branch WLAN business, including all assets, intellectual property, R&D personnel, and customer relationships, to a DOJ-approved buyer within 180 days.
  1. License Juniper's Mist AI Technology The parties must hold an auction to license Juniper's AI Ops for Mist source code—an important component in modern WLAN systems. The license will be perpetual, non-exclusive, and include optional transitional support and personnel transfers to facilitate competition.

Juniper MIST with all the news about leader in wired and wireless has just 3% of WLAN market.

HPE aruba has 14-16% and Cisco about 46-48%

Juniper MIST cloud is better than buggy Aruba cloud. Aruba failed in cloud badly with bad hiring in cloud technology and implementing cloud features.

Get ready for the Aruba cloud to be decimated slowly. Jump into MIST ASAP if you like working here.
