While RR gets $50 MM, RM gets $7 MM for selling employees out.

@gz

The annual is 0% unless you have a stellar year. JNPR does (CK) not believe in raises for doing one’s job

@gc It depends on what group. Service Provider, yes. Enterprise, no. I think the Aruba reps will get their pick of accounts. SLED, no. Aruba is strong in SLED, and that brand spanking new Juniper SLED team will probably get blown up.

@b0 What's the average JNPR raise per cent annually? At hpe you can expect less than 3% in united states.

Impact Summary

Merger officially closed: July 2, 2025
Pre-announced layoffs: approximately 2,500 globally (announced in March 2025)
DOJ approved the deal with licensing conditions, including mandatory Mist AI source code license to competitors

Projected Layoff Timeline (based on past HPE behavior):

Phase 1 – July 2025:
Headquarters redundancies, HR, finance, corporate communications, and overlapping Juniper sales and marketing teams

Phase 2 – August to September 2025:
Integration cuts in customer support, engineering, and channel sales, especially where Aruba and Juniper product lines overlap

Phase 3 – November 2025 onward:
Strategic realignment in TAC (technical assistance centers), field systems engineers, legacy product teams, and some Mist AI operations staff

Phase 4 – March 2026 and beyond:
Product sunsets will lead to cuts in sustaining engineering, documentation, QA, and backend support roles

Roles Likely to Be Affected:

Field marketing and partner/channel managers

Sales engineers (especially Juniper-side)

Customer success and support (non-Mist focused)

TAC and SEs in overlapping regions

Mid-level product managers and enablement staff

Non-core Mist AI engineering and support teams

Internal functions like HR, IT, finance, and procurement (especially Juniper side)

Mist AI core engineers are probably safe for now, but anyone outside strategic areas is vulnerable.
Expect layoffs to happen in waves — HPE rarely does it all at once. This is consistent with how they handled prior acquisitions.

Joke email from RR tells us to focus on our job goals. He gets his $50 MM and doesn’t care about rank and file employees needing to provide for families.

I heard HPE's salary is low compared to JNPR.
I wonder what will happen to our annual raise, as well as potential RSUs, after HPE merge.

If we will not have an annual raise, I'll be saying goodbye for sure..

I’m sure they’ll announce a date shortly after the judge approves the deal. It could be fairly quick from a stock transaction standpoint.
