The one who stayed is being shifted into a differen support role. Today they said the reason for this was that there were 20 open Rev Cycle positions they couldn’t fill. Instead of hiring more consultants to cover the gap, they fired the team and outsourced Rev Cycle IT to a managed services firm—basically a cheaper, less experienced version of consultants, employed full-time by their own company, Cardamom. It’s a shame. The FTEs on my team were some of the strongest I’ve seen at any org. I’m feeling a lot of survivor’s guilt right now. My guess is they kept us consultants around just to keep the lights on until the managed services group is up and running. It’s easir for them to drop us when they’re ready than it would’ve been to hang onto the FTEs...
