I want to be honest about all the things that need to and could improve but I also don't want to step on any landmines. I don't know about others, but my manager is not exactly receptive, but some things need fixing. It really shouldn't be this hard to get the simplest things done.

Being honest gets you labeled as a trouble maker and lands your name on the next layoff list. Best to just answer it all mundane and middle of the road.
@b6 Haha!! They laid off or forced out the good leaders and left the cr-p there because the SVP's needed some budget savings and yes people in place. It's going to get worse because the last remaining good managers / directors are leaving next month. Things will never improve with the current load of SVP's and VP's in place right now. The current situation has been cultivated over the last couple of years, it isnt going to magically be better in less time than that.
There’s a lot of issues that are going unfixed. I made several recommendations of creative ways to use new systems to help employees be more efficient. Management told me good luck getting that approved. If management has no motivation, nothing is going to change. Creative and thoughtful leaders are far and few in between and I won’t go into the office to work in management. Sick of giving them ideas and offering insight. They also take credit for your ideas and insight bc they lack it. We need better leaders at the top to get back to a better place. We are a great company and can get there again. It just takes the right people in place to do that.
Told my manager to keep his di-k in his pants but he stuff f*caked the CISO at the time. Now he’s giving some love to one of his subordinates.
The survey results were bad ima few categories in my org. Leaders blew it off completely. They told managers to fix the scores not the problems people are reporting. Not entirely sure how people are supposed to do that but okay. It’s just one example of many when it comes to poor leadership. Some leaders have been here so long they think treating people like cr-p is normal. When people give their honest feedback (which is rare due to fear of repercussions) the feedback is dismissed as a fluke.
You can literally do nothing your entire career at this company because its about body count and positivity, not productivity metrics. Fraudsters here are increasingly learning to just write bad code written in a few seconds by AI and letting the few remaining engineers handle the defects. Any ethical low level team lead who figures that out and takes action will be rooted out by their politician/manager for some version of "failure to trust". If you want to avoid the layoff list, don't get pegged as cynical by giving them your feedback because if you think they care then you don't know the game your in.
Managers change twice a year. Why bother?
For sure . So recently one of the survey results was high burnout for the ICM and what could be done about it. Well one of the knowledgeable managers started a committee and gave those staff nurses tips and tricks to improve that burnout. She than asked how it was going and basically said, if you are burned out than it is your fault because these tips should help you manage your time and increase your productivity and basically it is your fault if you are burned out. No time did she mention the absurd high metrics.
Yes, leaders in this company surround themselves with yes people. It is hard to give feedback. Just know that a manager who dismisses real actionable feedback is not a real leader.
The only safe feedback is a two week notice.
Be the change you want to be. Be transparent with your manager, tell them how things are.
Just make sure you have your resume typed up and shipped out far and wide in advance for when they decide your a-s needs to go for not being an id--tic yes-man helping guide this company to its demise.
