Strange way to treat your backbone

The way this all went down is something I’m still trying to wrap my head around. People who gave decades of their lives here, folks who trained others, carried departments through chaos, and worked through holidays, are suddenly just gone. No explanation. Just a bland notification and some vague promises about next steps.

It’s hard not to notice a trend: most of the people let go seem to be the ones with the most history, knowledge, and higher salaries. And the ones behind the scenes - people in billing, systems, logistics - got hit especially hard. Seems the less visible your work is, the more likely you were cut.

This place used to take pride in how it treated its staff. That pride is gone. It feels like decisions are being made by people who’ve never actually stepped foot in the departments they’re gutting.

And for what? A cleaner budget line? If that’s the goal, mission accomplished. But don’t be surprised when the rest of the structure starts to crack.
