GLINT

Why do we take the Glint survey ?

I’ve seen nothing but years upon years of CS leadership being ranked abysmally, yet this never changes. “Leadership” if you can call them that never address these scores, and they never seem to change.

Is it because leadership is a bunch of narcissistic self-serving vampires?

@fy Ah yes, DOGE style.

Create chaos, exfiltrate data, violate rules and cost more money while lying.

DOGE didn't save a penny. They didn't give each of us $5,000. They didn't even identify the proper staffing levels. The only ones thinking DOGE did anything also think STS is competent.

Still too many managers and directors and MDs and useless leaders here I see it on internal People site. We can reduce it by another 50% let's do it. DOGE Style.

The more this company goes on, the happier I am that I no longer work there.

Me too! No truer words!

Glint is Microsoft LinkedIn, designed to inflate feedback ratings and only used when the feedback supports management’s preordained agenda.

Pre MS acquisition, Glint marketed themselves as gamed question engagement. The secret sauce. Frame questions to deliberately get higher responses scores.

Don’t. Don’t waste your time. Don’t invest in feedback. Don’t trust.

Do. Keep records of everything off site. Calls, messages. Feedback. Positive and negative. Assume tomorrow is when a bullseye is painted in your back. Be ready to defend yourself and follow up in arbitration. Hope you never have to.

CS? The name of the company.

Word to anyone who is discussing employee surveys. Declining to complete them speaks louder than completing them.

you can take your sabbitacal, paternity leave and sick time when it is appropriate. document what they say and if they discourage you - they cannot penalize you for taking that time. If they do - I would document and go to HR and if it is really I would get a lawyer. BTW. - they don't want you gone because then they have to work and answer questions that they can't. Pretty sure they arrived here on an H1B and have no real value

Don't ever call them leaders, they're merely managers, and bad ones at that.

There was a time, close to 10 years ago, when leadership seemed to care about Glint surveys. I've seen directors moved off their teams for getting bad scores, for instance. But it definitely seems like nobody really gives a cr-p now, or at best they try to turn it around on the ICs as if they're the problem

You are absolutely right. The engagement scores for the greater Schwab leadership are in the 50s and 60s : a failing grade. Most people don’t even answer these questions honestly because they’re afraid of retaliation and retribution. Can you imagine if people actually put down how they felt. It shows where leadership does not care. They do not care about the employees and they would rather rule through fear and coercion.
