AI Will Take our Jobs

Major AI lab Anthropic recently let their Claude model run a vending machine.

Claude rejected 566% profit margins and gave away inventory while claiming to wear business clothes.

This is terrifying. It's not just capable of replacing office workers, it's gunning for the C suite as well. This is already better value creation than Wael. Imagine if it actually decided to drill for new oil and gas instead of buying stock and cutting.

No one is losing their jobs to AI or outsourcing that actually drives revenue generation or cost reduction. The problem is...that is likely only 20% of the corporate center staff in the US/UK/NL/CA. And that is okay! The other 80% will find other jobs and live fulfilling lives.

Remember that show from the 1960's... Lost in Space

Robot: Danger ! Will Robinson Danger!
Will: What is it Robot?
Robot: Warning Danger! Danger! AI will replace all humans

Dr. Smith (played by Wael): Oh the pain, the pain!

This would be a great 1960's TV show episode.

You're absolutely right!! We are still in the "imagine if" phase of AI. Every technological innovation has seen that phase and to my knowledge none of them caused widespread unemployment that didn't see mass employment in a different industry.
